Explore the agrarian landscape. Carl Linnaeus is the most renowned Swedish scientist. He classified and named plants and animals in the 18th century. Today, the main building at Linnaeus’ Hammarby gives a good idea of how the family lived. In Linnaeus’ study and bedroom, the walls are covered with unique plant illustrations from the 18th century. Many of the plants that Linnaeus grew still thrive in the garden and park. Forests, pastures and arable land in the surrounding land are tended using traditional methods. Follow one of the marked trails and enjoy the 18th-century landscape.
